Hi!
I want to use some Aruba IAP-515 at one site, that does only have 802.3af-capable switches - not 802.3at.
Edit: The APs shoud be used in "Instant-mode" without dedicated controller.
It's data sheet is showing:
------------------------
- When powered by DC or 802.3at (class 4) / 802.3bt (class 5) PoE, the AP will operate without restrictions.
- When powered by 802.3af (class 3) PoE and with the IPM feature enabled, the AP will start up in unrestricted mode, but it may apply restrictions depending on the PoE budget and actual power. What IPM restrictions to apply, and in what order, is programmable.
- Operating the AP with an 802.3af (class 3 or lower) PoE source and IPM disabled is not supported.
------------------------
Now, I have some questions:
- I did not find any possibility to program IPM on which restrictions will hit
- Are you aware on how/where I can monitor if restrictions are active?
- Do you think, I can use the APs in low-densitiy environments with 802.3af, where CPU-load is always low?
Thank you for your help!
