Edit: How do I become a wireless ISP for my neighbors?
I am a CCNA going on CCNP R&S and was studying CCNA wireless but stopped after getting past the Layer 1-2 stuff.
I have a bunch of 3502 APs. Should I just setup a hidden SSID for a trunk and then setup the ethernet port to provide DHCP to a SOHO router? Will I have to give them VPNs in order to avoid NAT/PAT problems?
I'm not afraid of hitting the books for this especially if it gets me closer to some certification.
I've got plenty of neighbors who are interested and I already serve my entire apartment complex. My network is on channel one and then I keep everybody else on the other two channels as appropriate. Nobody has complained about my QoS rules. (My personal network has a different set of QoS rules because I'm a jerk like that)
So far I havent had any issues with saturation but I'll get a second ISP connection as soon as it becomes necessary.
I'm not looking for a step by step instructions, just advice on what sort of topologies to persue. I looked into mesh but it is very complicated and I wanted to get advice before moving forward with that.
