My IT room is approximately 5' x 5' and a height of maybe 6-7' (short ceiling). I have five 48-port switches (two are POE), a router, a UPS, and two servers along with all of the internet telco equipment for two internet connections. The room is completely internal to the building but it does have a Mitsubishi split unit for cooling. Should this room have a solid door or a vented door? Should this space require the split unit running all the time? When we were setting up the room and fired up the switches (no servers) the room got noticeable hot without the AC running. I was surprised how much heat a couple of network switches could throw in space like this.
