I am a software developer now working from the Network team. I am beginning to write scripts to report off of the network but the one thing that is really holding me back is when changes are made to the network there is no easy way for us to get notified of that change.
Example: One of the ports was failing on our MPLS router. The interface was changed but I wasn't aware because I didn't attend the CAB meeting that day. Reporting was off as a result which was quickly resolved however I feel there must be a better way to do this other than everyone just needing to pay attention all the time.
