Intra-rack networking configuration

Hi all,

Doing some researches, I was trying to figure out how to do intra-rack networking for our testbed. Is this made via VLAN configuration inside a switch, and then have a bastion machine to access those services provided by the rack networkn, as well nodes ? The fact of choice being Top-of-Rack (ToR) or End-of-Row (EoR) does affect this kind of decision ?

For now, our main goal is to test how our infrastructure will behave using private-to-hybrid cloud architecture (running OpenNebula and Open Shift in our rack).
