Hi All,
I am going crazy trying to work out an issue with a HP Aruba switch and hoping for some help!
I currently have a HP Aruba 2930M in a 4 stack. Connected to one of the dual personality ports using a fibre SFP, is another HP Aruba 2930M. No matter what I do though, I can't get them to communicate. Both switches are running MST with the same MST config in terms of instance name, etc. Both switches however show that they are the route bridge and that the port going to the other switch is forwarding.
What I have tried:
- Connecting the two switches together using the copper port on the dual personality port of the 4-stack - no luck
- Connecting the two switches together using a normal copper port on both switches - it worked!
- Connecting the two switches together using a normal copper port on the 4-stack and the dual personality port on the other switch - it worked!
It almost seems like there is something blocking traffic on the 4-stack dual personality port. When the two switches are connected together using fibre, they still recognise each other as neighbours and this shows up in the web GUI. They just dont seem to pass any other data between the two.
Would anyone know where else I can look? Or any troubleshooting I can run to try and identify the issue?
Thanks.
