There so many different devices out there on different frequencies. My main question is about WiFi 5 and 6. The majority of smart home devices, Alexa, Ring etc are still on WiFi 5 ac right? or are they still on WiFi 4 n?
The reason being is I want to get a WiFi 6 ax router but it seems there is no point. Only my phone can benefit from WiFi 6 and nothing else. All the adverts say the ax router can handle 4x the devices but it doesn’t say if the device has to support WiFi 6 to take advantage of this feature.
Can anyone clarify if it’s worth getting an ax router at the moment if pretty much all smart home devices on the market don’t support WiFi 6.
Is there a benefit to getting a WiFi 6 router anyway, if it can handle more devices as the adverts suggest? Is there a limit to how many devices a WiFi 5 router can handle at any one time?
Last question, if I get a mesh system does it mean each satellite can support more devices, so the more satellites I get the more devices I can have on WiFi? Does it matter if it’s WiFi 5 or 6 mesh?
Thank you. Any help is appreciated.
