I'm at the beginnings of a network infrastructure refresh (replacing servers, storage and networking gear) i have more than 20 years of experience in under belt along with numerous certifications. I've done these sort of refreshes many times in my career but I've never once been asked to have architecture peer reviewed. At first i didn't think anything of the request but as i started thinking about it more, i found myself going through some thoughts like why are asking for this? Does upper management not trust my experience? Do they not respect the certifications I've earned?
I guess I'm wondering, what others think of this request? If you were asked to have your architecture peer reviewed when it was completed what would you do?
