STP on every switch?? (noob alert)

Hello Networkers, do i enable and configure (M)STP for every switch on the network (include access layer switches? i.e. Name, priority and instance( am considering to default to zero) ...

I am dealing with a myriad of mix brands and will be doing bpdu protect ( not filter ) and loop guard to all edge ports as well.
