This post will probably be deleted for being too simple, but I have been trying to wrap my head around it all weekend.
I have to set up a Cisco switch with 3 VLAN'S using 802.1q.
Say VLAN 20 with ports 4-10 tagged on port 1, VLAN 30 with ports 11-19 tagged on port 2, and VLAN 40 with ports 20-28 also tagged on port 2.
Ports 1-3 will be left as default VLAN 1.
My confusion is in connecting to the router.
Since I have two tagged ports does each one need it's own connection?
Or do I just connect via the default VLAN and the tagging takes care of it?
If I just had to set up three VLAN'S and tag all to the same port I wouldn't be confused.
What's confusing me is two different tagged ports.
Thank you,
