I operate a small home business and am considering the purchase of a home that is outside the city limits of a town of about 16,000 people in the upper midwest. The internet available at this address absolutely terrible. I am somewhat close to the extant fiber line, and was told I could pay to have fiber laid to the location and it would be about a 2 mile project. Any ideas on a ballpark for how much something like this would cost or what a reasonable quote for such a project would be?
The image here demonstrates where the current line is (red line) and where the property is (red dot).

I got the idea from the guy in this article: https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2015/08/want-fiber-internet-thatll-be-383500-isp-tells-farm-owner/ who paid to have fiber optic run to his farm due to bad internet options. He paid $41k for it (sad because in the end he could only get 25Mbit download speed and still has to pay $140 per month).
