Testing a 2960Sswitch for functionality?

Folks,

We had a number of 2960S come in from a site that was decommissioned and want to use them as spares in another environment. Are there some self-check commands provided within IOS, or, is there a procedure for internal checks and port by port verification of the switch before we put it back into use?
