Consumer Grade Router DNS server/cache.

So... I have been thinking of running a DNS server on my private network so that my hundreds of devices don't saturate a crappy internet connection.

Then I was thinking, what if I just set my DNS server for the devices to my router (premium consumer grade)... Doesn't that imply that the router is providing DNS information for my private network? Does that mean that my router has a DNS Caching ability?

What do you guys think?
