Do I have to memorize NetOPs scripts

Hi all,

I am a CCNP level network engineer relatively new network scripting and automation. I am trying to put effort into learnung as much automation as I can. I have managed to get myself up and running with Ansible (for Cisco) and Terraform (for AWS). I have been looking at other people's scripts and code and modifying it to do what I want. I can deploy an AWS Infrastructure with terraform quite easily as well as send commands to my Cisco switches. I understand everything in the code/scripts but my worry is that I don't have depth in knowledge of most of the code/scripts. I reuse and modify. This has worked for me thus far. Question: Do I really have to know all the ABC of the codes/scripts or understanding what they do is just enough for me?
