Can’t see host PC on VM’s Network tab.

I have my Hyper-v Windows 8.1 Pro VM setup, with a virtual Ethernet adapter attached. On the network tab on my main computer, I can see the VM and shares which are set up on the VM and the shares on my main computer aswell. When I switch to the VM, I can’t see my host PC, which is annoying because it’s the only easy way to transfer files to and from. If anyone knows a fix or the problem, please post a comment :) Thanks.
