Fortinet Support Contract Questions

We have a few Fortinet Firewalls of various models running on our network. I am starting to get contract renewal reminders to renew support and security services. It appears we purchased the 3 year bundle with our firewalls back in 2016. With regards to product lifecycle and support, should renew for another 3 years or do an annual renewal and start sourcing the "latest and greatest"?

EDIT: I wasn't with the organization when they purchased these firewalls and their 3 year support bundles but at a glance, it appears they were all purchased in 2016 across several months.
