Need assistance with a new USB(-C?) to serial adapter to console into my devices.

Short story:

• I need a new USB to serial adapter because Windows updates kill mine. Preferably USB-C to Serial.

Long story:

• Cisco shop at work.

• I have a work laptop with only USB-C ports.

• I currently use this adapter: https://www.startech.com/Cards-Adapters/Serial-Cards-Adapters/1-Port-USB-Serial-RS232-Adapter-Cable~ICUSB2321F . That adapter is connected to another usb to usb-c adapter...fantastic I know.

• From what I can read, Windows does not like the FTDI chip in this adapter, and when certain updates are applied it will kill the driver. Requiring you to re-install the driver after you've gone through advanced startup and killed driver enforcement.

• Normally this isn't something that bothers me UNTIL WINDOWS UPDATES OVERNIGHT RIGHT BEFORE I HAVE TO PUT IN A NEW FIREWALL AT 5AM. I'd like to avoid having this issue happen again with a stable reliable usb to console cable.

Anyone have good suggestions?

Thank you!
