Hi all,
I've been thinking about /r/networking a lot ever since /u/HosseinBz had their post deleted: https://www.removeddit.com/r/networking/comments/9u3iam/keep_up_with_worldwide_updates_for_network/
This was one of the few gilded posts that I've seen in /r/networking - this makes me think that the community feels the post had merit. (I am not the person that awarded it Gold.)
There are many people that show up to this subreddit asking similar questions:
- Why is my wireless slow
- Can you recommend a network monitoring solution
- Where should I go for training
- Do I need to learn how to program
- What's a good starter Scotch
- etc...
A frequent reply I've seen is "Use the search." That's fine for historical answers but this is a field that is ever changing. I think it would be beneficial to have wiki entries that are updated, curated, and moderated by contributors in this sub.
My goal here isn't to rock the boat too much. I like to think that /r/networking has a pretty good thing going. As with networking in general there's always room for improvement.
Thanks!
