Meraki APs and DFS channels

I couldn't find an answer to my question, and I've seen it many times and was posted years ago with no follow up so I figured I'd post the question and results after tests.

I work for a community college and are within 15-20 miles of an Air Force Base

Q: if you manually set a channel assignment in the DFS space and it detects radar signals on that channel what happens. Does it disable for up to 60 min or does it automatically move to another channel even though it's manually set.

A: the MR52 detected DFS radar and automatically moved to a nonDFS channel. This caused a channel overlap but it did seamlessly move away from the DFS channel.

It also showed in the logs that the DFS channel was detected and moved channels.

The MR52 never moved back to the original DFS channel.
