I mean, I've always been wary of running x.0 releases of anything. Thanks to Firepower, I'm now wary of running even x.x.6 versions. So tread lightly.
New features looks to include a multi-context (multi-instance) type solution for 4100 and 9300 chassis, ssl hardware acceleration, and RA VPN 2FA via ISE + RSA. (Though Duo 2FA has been working since FTD supported RA VPN)
The note on SSL hardware acceleration is odd since the FTD2K platform was markedted to have the same throughput with 'all the features on' since it had a special ssl acceleration chip onboard:
>Using SSL hardware acceleration if you are not decrypting traffic can affect performance. We recommend you disable SSL hardware acceleration on devices that are not decrypting traffic.
