Juniper SRX chassis cluster - ethernet switching not working

Hi all,

I'm working on a Juniper SRX240 chassis cluster deployment and this is mostly working as intended, however, I've come across an issue with the ethernet switching.

I don't have a support contract with Juniper so I thought I would try my luck on here.

When I run the command:

show chassis cluster ethernet-switching status

I get the following output:

Ethernet switching status:

Probe state is DOWN. Both nodes are in separate ethernet switching domain(s).

This was previously reporting as UP, however, I've made so many changes since then I cannot be sure what, if any of them, may have been the cause of this - or if we're looking at hardware/fault issue.

Looking at the status for the interfaces behind it with command:

show chassis cluster ethernet-switching interfaces

I get the following output:

swfab0:

Name Status

ge-0/0/4 up

ge-0/0/7 up

swfab1:

Name Status

ge-5/0/4 up

ge-5/0/7 up

Does anyone have any experience with this functionality and could perhaps point me in the right direction to troubleshoot it?

I've had a quick look at the JunOS KB but didn't find anything that really deals with troubleshooting the set up.
