Single chassis switch vs stacked switches

Hello.

We are planning to upgrade our core switches that are 10 years old, our company is a small business with low throughput and no "advanced" features (like layer 3 routing protocol and other things).

We are loking for a chassis solution (Arruba 5406) vs a stackable solution (3 our 4 HPE 5500 in IRF). This chassis have only one backplane, so its is a single SPOF. The stack solutions appears to be safer with more SPOF in case of problems.

Chassis is expensive and the ideia is to buy just one (it's hard here), different from stackable solution that we will have 3 or 4 switches and inst too expensive.

What your option? Im talking about reliability in failures of the switch, i know that chassis is an amazing solution but with a single backplane I cant fell that it is secure.
