New guy at lunch was essentially claiming that he can legally bury cables and run them through anyones yard as long as he had permission from the city.
He also argued that he can connect to something like Verizon's network as long as he ran the cables himself.
I was like... That shit sounds super wrong but I don't know enough about laws to dispute it. He claimed he could get an easement from the city to run cables wherever he wanted and connect to anything he wanted.
Could anyone enlighten me about this subject? I am now super curious. I feel like what he said is wrong, but I don't know what I don't know.
