Steering a client away from Meraki

Hi everyone - not here to product bash. I am currently designing infrastructure for a new client of ours, they have been sipping the Meraki Kool-Aid since day 1 under the previous IT group. And for the price point, I just cant seem to justify it.

That being said, i have a low density environment - approximately 30-40 users per AP at peak times across 13 access points. 130 or so physical drops so im looking at three 48 port switches and 1 24 port PoE switch for the APs. They asked for a quote doing the same old song and dance with Meraki hardware and Watch Guard firewalls but they also requested information on what other options they may have.

Likely going with Sophos for UTM, but just curious what advice you guys may have for another product line. We will likely do any work or config changes in-house and not really rely on Meraki support for anything since in my experience their solution for just about anything is to throw more APs at it. That being said a cloud managed platform would be awesome since we will be managing about 6 sites just like this one.

Any recommendations? Other than unifi.
