Hey everyone -
... first off, I KNOW this question is highly dependent on a lot of variables. My boss is requesting a list of our equipment, and the expected lifecycle/replacement recommendations.
I wanted to get some feedback and opinions (links to any kind of good information would be useful as well) from the masses about what is your typical life cycle for your network gear? I know that typically, 5 years is ~~ average recommendation, but most of the time, budgets and management saying 'well, its working fine, why should we replace it?' is the cross we bear in this. However, in an ideal environment, what would your suggestion be for how often you would want to upcycle/replace your network gear? Switches, Routers, Firewalls, AP's, etc.
