Fortigate 60e vs SonicWall TZ300?

I’ve been searching through past posts, and seems like there is dislike for SonicWall stuff.

I’m brand new to UTM/NGFW’s, but I’m the guy who’s been given the task. I’ve posted a few questions previously about my context, but the short is that I’m helping out non-profit redo our networks at several international locations in developing nations.

We have a stateside company that is loosely connected with our organization that uses SonicWall stuff. So, there’s a perk to using them, in that if we have problems, or if I wanted to potentially outsource the management of them on down the road (or I leave the job), then they could handle that.

But... I don’t know if that perk is big enough, if the general consensus is that SonicWall sucks.

I’d like to purchase one of each to test, but don’t have that luxury currently as I’m already living overseas where things are wicked slow to get. So I somewhat need to just pick one and go with it. We’ll be using less than 10 total for different locations.

We aren’t using site-to-site VPN, so our setup is fairly simple. But, as a one-man-show, I’m after ease of remote management and monitoring.

We are pairing the firewall with Unifi gear.

Any thoughts or feedback? Resources to explore before making a decision? Big things to consider?
