NIC Compatibility Issues

So right now I'm dealing with a Dell T330 (WS2012 R2) that has two Asus XG-C100C NICs inside. The NICs are connected to a US‑16‑XG Recently the Asus NICs have been failing with a weird error in the event log:

ASUS XG-C100C 10G PCI-E Network Adapter : The network adapter has detected that the token ring cable is disconnected from the network adapter. Please reconnect the cable.

Now if I worked here before they needed to purchase a NIC I normally recommend Intel. Would this Intel XXV710-DA2 be compatible with this US‑16‑XG using this Intel SFP28 cable? I just need two 10 GBPS links.

I think it would but another pair of eyes won't hurt. I think the main issue is that the Asus NIC isn't really for servers.

Thanks
