I have setup a Cisco ASA HA pair (Active/Stanby) in our head office utilising HSRP from our two Cisco routers. Everything works fine and it can handle a single router and/or firewall outage with no issues. However, I now need to set up some routers in overseas managed offices. These offices are currently provided networking via an MSP into wall sockets, so we have no access to the equipment or direct connection to the routers. They will be providing internal IP addresses with static NAT's to public IP addresses.
I am therefore wondering what the best option is for setting up a HA pair of Cisco ASA's in this situation where HSRP is not available? I can't think of a way this is possible, at least not for stateful HA.
