Netgear is trying to compete in the enterprise space. They have many new platforms that are rich in features and even a core platform but the one issue for me is my perception that there is a serious lack of documentation . I manage a mid size corporate network and am looking at these for some use cases but before I put one in production, I have to test, and in order to properly test I need thorough documentation on how the features are designed to work. I just haven't found that info yet and the user guides are fairly ambiguous with no deep dive on behavior. I come to expect that if a company is in a complicated market like networking, they would have that repository available. Now that being said, vendors like Netgear rely heavily on IETF standards so the answer may just be read the RFC but I want a little more info from the horses mouth.
They have an M6100 modular core switch that looks to compete for business from Cisco 4507 end of life clients so it appears they employ some high level engineers but where is the detailed documentation? I want to bite but I can't until this little aspect of their business offering is complete. Any opinions? Am I missing it somewhere?
