Engineers / Admins, what do you use as a workstation?

So, before I explain, I read the rules and it seems as if this question may be fair to ask. If not, I'll be more than happy to move it.

To preface, I had previously been in a Desktop Support role before transitioning into networking about 9 months ago. I used a Surface Pro 4 then and that is what my daily driver today remains. I love it in many ways but scaling within Windows 10 is a nightmare to deal with. Making trips to the Data Centers aren't a problem and with the available USB port I can console in to my equipment without any issues.

In other words, I'm shopping around and I'm just curious as to what everyone else uses? Laptop or desktop? Also, would you recommend it?
