How to plan and document new site & equipment? Any help appreciated.

Hi guys,

I've been assigned the task of planning and documenting the equipment for a new wireless tower site. I already know exactly what equipment I will be using (in terms of radios, routers, switches, etc.), but the problem is, I've never done this before and I'm not too sure what to search on Google so I can see examples on what needs to be done.

Here's a brief gist of what I need to include in this report:

  • Equipment Required (What radios used, what antennas, where they are pointed on the tower)
  • Equipment on the ground (routers, switches, PSUs, etc.)
  • Power Draw (in Watts - Is there an accepted way to break this down)
  • UPS Requirements (Approximately how long will X ups run Y load?)
  • Router Configurations - Do I go into extreme detail, or just rough as in "Routing protocol X will be for between site Y and Z"
  • With Wireless connections, I need to also include expected signal levels, expected speeds, etc. I assume I need another section for this.
  • Port assignments as well! Where does X radio go into Y device, what VLAN, what configuration on that port, etc.

Maybe you know of something similar to what I need to show? Maybe it's a project proposal of some kind? A Bill of Materials? IDK man...

Any examples that I could look at and compare to would be appreciated. Even if it's not 100% exact to my needs (which I doubt they will be), would be appreciated. Again, I'm not too sure what I'm looking for.

My apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I figure that some networking people do this on a semi-frequent basis, so any knowledge would help.
