Current CISCO Router dying; looking for replacement options and any insight

So today our Cisco 1921 basically crashed and had a ROM error. From what I gathered this is bad news and is probably a sign for replacement. In all honesty we're ready to replace it anyways so we're not too concerned about it.

My business consists of 20-30 people, most of us write code or do remote support and we do remote viewing of video. We currently use a Router on a Stick configuration with 5-6 switches and 6-7 VLANs. Our current router I bought a 4 port GB WIC card for each VLAN/Switch to have it's own interface for ease of configuration and organization. The new router we get we would love if it had those built in already (possibly with a firewall too if it doesn't break the bank).

I have done a little digging around but I have several things to consider for buying a new one:

  • If I go to another brand is there a way to convert our config for a Juniper/Ubquiti/Etc? The amount of configuration on our current router is pretty in depth, will I have to reconfigure every NAT/Forward/Network/VLAN etc again? Also if we go with a newer cisco, can we upload our config to it with very little hiccups or is everything different? I have noticed Cisco going towards a more web UI heavy style instead of the old school telnet/ssh method, not sure if that changes how the configs work or not.

  • I recently setup a Ubiquiti AP in our office and I rather liked the layout. The documentation wasn't the best but the ease of setup was pretty cool -- would their edgerouter be an ideal replacement candidate or are there better solutions?

Honestly any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Not opposed to sticking with Cisco since I know it, but I would not mind going to another brand if it meant a cheaper and more feature filled product with a good name behind it.
