Seems that VXLAN with BG EVPN is the way to go if we need L2 between two DCs. I'm aware it's not the best way, but we're running huge amount of custom and legacy software (not much web hosting at all, no containers anywhere, IPs hard coded on the devices in the LAN etc). Going to fully routed DCs would be in the future of course.
Some designs seem to suggest connecting a DC from couple of it's leaf switches to a router and from there to the rest of the campus network and WAN. Some designs seem like the DC network is connected on the spines.
I guess we'd start with 2 spines + 4-6 leafs per DC and then couple routers to connect the DC to another DC/WAN/campus core.
Any tips? Or have I just skimmed too quickly through the designs, the ones with Juniper-looking icons seem to have PE routers connected to the spines and then the ones with Cisco-looking icons have connections to the leafs
Thanks!
