Creating a private VPN out of your paid VPN

Hi, dear Redditors!

After doing some research, I didn't find any answer to my question. I'm unfortunately in the impossibility to test this myself, but I'm sure some of you will know the answer right away!

I was wondering if, for example, someone paid for a business VPN that allows only 1 simultaneous connection.

What would prevent this person to actually connect to the VPN on its computer and then create its own private VPN with, for example, SSH and PUTTY and connect other devices to this ''new'' VPN?

Would that actually work and if so, would VPN provider be able to prevent that?
