Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has experience configuring meraki ms355 as core and down stream Cisco 2960.
I moved into a position where the previous admin had purchased the meraki core switches because they have a mx firewall before he quit. So I have to finish the job.
I will post a topology just drawing it up. But the general idea is current topology doesn’t make any sense as to why they configured it like this.
Current core brocade 24 port icx 2 switch stack.
Port channel (2 10gb ) configured to each core member from each Cisco 2960 stack.
No stp configured on brocade.
Each 2960 switch stack is in its own mst domain with mst as the stp mode.
Each downstream stack has only a single downstream switch and then all desktop computers.
I want to move the 2960 to all be using Rpvstp and change the uplink to two separate paths. Instead of one port channel. Then enable rstp on meraki uplink switches leaving all the edge switches as their own root.
I found some documentation from meraki that says that you shouldn’t have ms switches as root in this type of configuration.
Any thoughts on this set up or suggestions ?
