Can any wifi enabled devices determine the MAC/IEMI/IP (or any identifying characteristics) of devices and log instances of "new encounters" in a passive capacity? And what would be the easiest method to achieve this?
I'm fairly new to networking and only have a basic knowledge; so that might be a stupid question, but I'm interested in setting a system that would monitor foot traffic for a university project, and any suggestions would be appreciated.
