Good morning!
It's been a few years since I've done a circuit turn-up, but is it common practice now for a provider to give a fiber handoff and require you to use a media converter if you want copper? I'm going around and around with them and they've all but refused to give me a copper handoff and I'm just wondering should I just throw in the towel and buy a media converter and put it to rest?
I have never used a media converter before, are there any downsides other than adding in another point of failure? Or are these things pretty reliable to where that shouldn't be an issue?
The circuit has already been activated and we were assured multiple times throughout the process this was going to be a copper handoff and we're being told we need to contact the sales team to have the circuit reprovisioned if we want copper - "or just use a media converter."
Hope you can help - thanks!
