Amazon's New World came out recently and the #1 complaint is server congestion. Since this is a problem with every single popular online game on launch, it made me wonder: will congestion ever be a problem of the past? Will servers ever be able to handle hundreds of thousands of people trying to connect at the same time, or is it just a symptom inherent to the technology (similar to how there will always be latency no matter what due to the speed of light)?
