So here’s something that’s been keeping me up at night lately:
What do you all think the future of Network Engineering is?
I know there will always be a need for the Tier 1’s to troubleshoot connections to the web, but with everything moving to the cloud, being automated, or over simplified (looking at you Meraki), I don’t know what’s going to be left to do.
Will the CCIE become irrelevant? (Again, excepting Data Center)
Will everything consolidate into a bunch of data centers around the globe owned by two or three companies?
What does our future look like?
Is it bright or bleak?
Additionally, what would be a future-proof training/certification track and specialization within networking?
