Hi, I have been using Kerio Control (fw/ips/vpn..) from their beginings but since the were bought by GFI few years ago they got worse and support really sucks.
Anyway.. looking for something cheaper that I can use for companies with 2-10 people as fw/utm/router/vpn solution that would not be hacked by first night. I'm starting to think that 300$ per year for GFI Kerio virtual appliance for ten user package (plus server etc) is not a good deal. They need some standard protection, fw, vpn server, router, nat and log capable device. Kerio can handle all of this but I feel I could get more juice for that money or just save a few $$. No more SW appliance but SW+HW.
I was thinking:
-Cisco meraki mx64. Not a bad price for HW and licence fee seems to be lower and GFI, but I have never used them. And limited wan bandwith is not nice.
-Ubiquiti UDM Pro. Buy HW and don't pay anything else. Great! But can it reliably works in real company and not to be afraid of some attack from outside? Accorning to reddit discussions it doesn't seem to be a good one. But how to compare?
-Fortigate 40f. Nice thing but it's little pricier then currently used Kerio.
-I saw that same business even use just standard plain router (Asus, TP-link) with basic FW, openvpn server, nat and they are happy with 100$ investment for 6 years. Good idea?
-Sophos with HW appliance?
-Anything else? Or just stick with Kerio and don't try to change what is working?
Thank you all guys
