Top 5 things a Network Engineer can do to progress their career?

Hey guys,

Wannabe Network Engineer here (going to achieve that goal within the next 3 years I hope) and I'm currently looking for some guidance.

I've been doing some research into the most important things for Network engineers to know/do, in order to progress their career...

And there seems to be SO MANY.

So many things that would progress the career of a Network Engineer.

Learning Cisco IOS, Junipers JunOS, Palo Alto stuff, Fortinet stuff, firewalls, security, python and Ansible for automation, solar winds, Wireshark, getting the CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc. Etc.

So I'd like to ask those of you that are experienced - what are the top 5 things a Network Engineer should do to progress their career?

Thanks in advance,

Warmly,

Billy

P.S.

My current plan/roadmap has been:

Get the Net+ -> Get the CCNA -> Get my first Network based job to gain experience -> learn python (so I can use Ansible for automation) -> Get the CCNP.

And so far, I've got the Net+, got the CCNA, and landed my first Network based job.

What would you change about this roadmap or suggest I do next?
