Simple question: does networking hardware, which is specified to work with OM3 fiber also work with OM4 cables (when the cables support the same wavelength)? My understanding is that the OM* labels are similar to the CATx labels of copper cables, meaning higher is generally better and backwards-compatible. Is that true for OM fiber cables as well?
