How have you labeled the network ports for various things and why?Im about to redraw 2 of our racks and want ideas on how to do things in a better way.
What i have done is Label each port description with what port it comes from for example srv-1 p1 or sw01 p5.
I have used colors on the network cables when we don't use DAC/Fiber:
white - regular traffic
green - san traffic controller 1
blue - san traffic controller 2
black - remote management (idrac)
red - connecting devices together switch to switch, fw to fw
yellow - incoming internet/vpn
I would have liked to label each cable on both sides but i have found any good tools for it, any suggestions?
