I have ping 230-350 ms from Honolulu (Hawaii) to Belgrade, Serbia.
I know everyone will say that is law of physic. I just need to understand it. (I got fiber connection on both end) no converter. Fiber goes straight to the Cisco Router on both ends.
When you measure the distance (Google Earth) its about 7,872 miles.
Ok cables does not go straight so lets add * 3 (23,616 miles).
Speed of light is 186,282 miles per second / 1,000 to get ms = 186.2 miles per one millisecond.
Ok cool.
23,616 / 186.2 = 126.9 ms ping what it should be.
So I guess rest is conversion from optical to electrical signal + routing right?
I think there is a lot of room for improvement!
What do you think? Am I wrong?
