Wondering if anyone has ever heard of or knows of a way to potentially have a direct fiber/ethernet connection to any public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Oracle, IBM, etc) without needing a router running BGP at the on-prem site.
The use case is to deliver streaming video to colos in a few cities in the U.S. directly from EC2 instances we have running.
We would basically want a layer2 connection directly from a VPC into a colo. The only thing that would travel out of the VPC and toward the direct connect would be a video stream. (I know everyone here will cringe at layer2, but it’s a very specific use case and we are not spanning multiple VLANs or anything like that).
Thanks!
