Hi! In advance, sorry for my bad English.
I work at a big company in the southern part of Sweden. Yesterday I got a chance to buy a Cisco Meraki 24 POE Switch from one of the plant-managers for a "nickel-and-dime."
The plant-manager in question knows that I am interested in networking / IT and security.
For the time being, we have all our IT-resources out-source to a company in Finland, and I don't know if the plant-manager thought of that. Is the possibility that the switch is "out of commission" - Locked, and when I connect to the internet and register it via the app: Meraki Go.
Red lights flashed in Finland? And the manager and I need to go to the unemployment office?
The short story is that I'm going into Networking, and the possibility of acquiring a CISCO device is very tempting. But I don't want to risk my or the manager's job. And for the record, the manager's tech-know-how is a bit scares.
After I have written all off this, it just hit me. Is it possible to find devices in networks via the pure original MAC-address? I got my MacBook stole a year back. It went off the gird five hours and traveling towards Stockholm. (Find my iPhone)
