We have many users within a certain major metropolitan area that ride on different cable providers at home and are reporting a significant drop in bandwidth once connected to VPN. No other users located within other cities are reporting the same issue. The VPN concentrator (Fortiguard/Forticlient) is centrally located in proximity to all our offices. Our ISP currently hosts our VPN concentrator as part of their firewall package, so unfortunately we are somewhat blind in what Fortiguard is reporting.
Any suggestions? Could this be a peering issue between our ISP and the cable providers in the metro area affected? Possibly limiting the use of 443 as the VPN port?
