OSPF Unequal Cost Load-Balancing Tweaking

Hi All,

Our Datacenter has diverse paths - one route going through New York (Primary) and another going through Halifax (Secondary)

We are running OSPF on a VPLS network interconnecting around 8 other campus sites around the world.

We typically have the New York route handling the traffic and we do this by changing the cost however the issue is that if any problems occur on that route upstream; OSPF does not use the other route unless the New York interface is manually shut.

Is there any way to tweak OSPF to choose the other route if New York route is in a degraded state?

I know EIGRP has K values that can be changed such as reliability K value, so I'm assuming it would be able to do this but I don't know of any way to do it with OSPF. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
