Good morning to all, i need a clarification on this scenario:
I have two managed switches with 3 vlans (vlan 1, 101,102) connected via a single port tagged on all the 3 vlans
i put between the 2 switches an unmanaged switch (eg: to extend the distance of the link)
Question 1: the vlans on the far end managed switches continues to work? or the middle unmanaged switch break the vlan tagging?
Question 2: on the middle unmanaged switch, if I connect some device, I see the vlan1? or I have no connectivity?
Question3 : and if instead of making the trunk tagged on all the 3 vlans, i make it untagged on vlan 1 and tagged on vlan 101 and 102, the question 2 is in the same situation? or i have connectivity on vlan 1?
Please avoid answers like: put a managed switch in the middle and program vlans and trunk accordingly. In this situation it is not an option.
Thank you in advance
MAX
