Hey guys,
I have mostly worked with CLI and mostly with Cisco and similar devices. Whenever we got a device that needed GUI config, I always gave it away to u/Safirxp to configure.
I understand access and trunk and pvid but always get lost with tag and untagged. Having since shutting down my operation, I went to a place where I had to configure a d link switch and it has GUI and the CLI wasn't making sense.
So, port 2 to 14 will be access port vlan 10 and the remaining with be vlan 20. Click click, remove vlan 1, add appropriate vlan and tag and no ping. So, a call to u/Safirxp and he says, it's untagged.
Why have different terminologies? Wait, is tag, untagged the right stuff and access and trunk is the evil stuff?
Made me appreciate my exile :)
